Meet Chef Frank
Bringing Jordan’s flavors to Kansas City
Chef Frank’s culinary journey is a bridge between two worlds, rooted in the heritage of Irbid and flourishing in the heart of the Midwest. At Zaki, he treats every dish as a letter from home, shared with his neighbors in the KC community.
Our Heritage
From Irbid to the Iron District
From Irbid to America
Born and raised in Irbid, Jordan, Chef Frank’s culinary journey began in his family’s restaurant. Working alongside his father, he learned the art of traditional cooking. When his father passed away and the family business closed, Frank brought his lifelong passion for food to the United States.
A Culinary Journey
For years, he took his heritage on the road, helping kitchens thrive from Wichita to New Jersey, Alabama to Ohio. Eventually, he put down roots in Kansas City, opening his beloved first restaurant, Kari's on 39th.
Back to Basics
After four successful years running a full-scale restaurant, Chef Frank craved a return to the essence of cooking. He traded the traditional restaurant model for a pure, stripped-down approach. No distractions—just a man, his kitchen, and the food he loves where he thrives most.
